I started mixing 20 years ago, when I was 16. Up to that point, my main musical influence had been New York hip hop. Evil Dee, Tony Touch, DJ Premier and Cut Killer are still having an impact on my way of cutting and scratching. At the age of 16 I discovered nu disco and re-edits. As a way of balancing hip hop with a further big musical influence, I like to combine these different genres for my style of spinning. Over time, scratching and cutting became more important than merely mixing. Today turntablism and portablism are main elements of my life. Fame and money should play no role in turntablism culture, that is why performing in clubs has never been that important for me. I rather enjoy networking with other turntablists all over the world, hoping that people will once again recognize music as cultural heritage and put selfish money making in the background. I believe in the future of portablism and hope to see loads of jams in cool and unusual places.
